Read Jesus' words prayerfully, "Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people." (Mt 4:19) Reflect and pray about this and let God guide you in what you do today.

Give thanks that the third semester just ended at the end of September. The remote teaching was smooth, full attendances from all the students, and the teachers were caring and taught seriously. Glory to the Lord!

The pastoral team has set aside 20/10 for the team's Prayer and Planning Day for next year's ministry. Please pray for it so that it will be a fruitful day in discerning God's will for His church.

National & International Situations 
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused at least 110 million children to go hungry and pushed 8 million others into child labour and begging, according to assessments in 24 countries by World Vision. Please ask the Lord of mercy to show us what we can do to help alleviate this global problem.

Praise God that we can use Zoom to catch up with the children and encourage them to think more about God.  Pray for those children who have not been able to join.

Pray that God will continue to lead and bless the fourth semester, the preparation of the teacher, the preparation of the students and parents, and the media for conducting class. Pray that the Lord will put an end to the epidemic as soon as possible and make all teachers and students healthy.

Pray for the psychological and spiritual health of many within our church family who are physically fragile, have chronic illnesses or live by themselves that the Lord continues to bless and sustain them.

Pray for the new students and teachers for the new round of “Life of Christ” course 2020. The new class will start from October. Ask God to prepare the students’ hearts to follow Christ and learn to be His disciples. Pray also for the teachers.

Give thanks to God that the COVID-19 situation in Australia has improved with most states recording no new locally transmitted cases. Continue to pray for those who experience financial strain as a result of the pandemic.

At least 23 people were killed and another 20 wounded after armed extremists stormed an Anglican church compound in South Sudan recently, according to Open Doors. Extremist violence across South Sudan has, by September, displaced over 60,000 people. With several organisations forced out of the country, lives and the future of the church in the country is at extreme risk. Please pray for peace, comfort and healing for those affected by extremism. Also pray that Christians will remain steadfast in their faith.

* Thank God for the opportunity to start meeting up in person, to study and spend time together with students. Nat was invited to one of the study sessions. I learnt that she doesn't believe in Jesus but loved reading the children's Bible and asked many good questions. Pray for Christina to keep sharing Jesus with Nat and pray for Nat's salvation.
* Pray for Kit as she synthesized the challenges the students faced after conversion from their non christian parents. 
* Thank God for weekly prayer meetings with students and using on line cooking classes on different hobbies and interests to reach out to CBM students.

The Cantonese Ministry Committee (CMC) will meet on 25/10 to discuss issues pertaining to the Cantonese ministry. Pray for the Lord's leading and, in particular, planning for next year.

* Praise God for Ashar's 5th birthday.  Praise God for the availability of health services in providing a  physiotherapist to treat him.
*  Praise God for stretching us and using our family to serve the Taiwanese working class by, pointing people to see Jesus through witnessing our daily living at home..
*  Praise God for giving Guohan and his family courage to remove the ancestor worship stuff from their house, and pray for spiritual protection that this short term loss might result in long term change and blessing thus strengthening their faith.

Faithful Giving - During the current social distancing restrictions, we won't be able to collect cash offertory, which typically accounts for about 35% of our offertory income.  Let us pray that our members will remain faithful in their support of His work here at CPC, and that many more will now turn to online offertory (BSB 032-044 Acct 225830).

Given the pandemic situation, it has been decided this year the Christmas Evangelistic Dinner will not go ahead as per previous years. Instead, we hope to do something different for this year. Pray for the Committee which is making plans.

* Praise God for allowing church meeting again for fellowship. Pray for their love and keen desire of serving to be rekindled.
* Praise God for the faithfulness of long-term missionaries, and pray to raise more people to join serving Him in Mongolia.
* Pray for Tumee and Ochko as they experienced God's grace in answered prayers.  May they continue growing in maturity.
* Pray that the Holy Spirit would soften the hearts of Bayaraa and Ideree, and convict them where necessary, so that they would know the joy and freedom of living in Christ.
* Pray for their plan of returning to Sydney.

National Situation
According to the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL), strong public support has been shown for prayer to continue in Brisbane's Council meetings. Many signed the ACL petition to the Brisbane City Council which ultimately opposed the call to remove Christian prayer from Council meetings. Please continue to uphold those in authority nationally, for "this is good, and pleases God our Saviour." (1 Tim 2:2-3)

* Due to Covid 19, the monthly mission prayer meeting and Bilingual bible study are carried out on line. Praise God there are new comers joining the meetings. Pray for openness and kindness in sharing and supporting each other.
* Pray for Mission Mentoring group at Grace Point that they have sensitive ears and open heart to journey with those who have the heart for mission.

* Thank God for God's provision on Samuel for scholarship to study at New York University. Pray for his adjustments in new environment.
* Recent East Asia Student virtual conference held with 1000 participants and 500 rededicated their lives with willingness to join cross-cultural mission service.
* Elaine serves at National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) in Singapore, now embarking to study Master on Global Health Policy. Pray for strength and joy to study and work to gain challenging and rewarding experiences.
