1/1 Fri | Church-wide Ministry and Direction As the COVID-19 situation continues to be unpredictable, please pray that the session, COM and leaders of different congregations will be adaptable in their leadership of the church and in ensuring members are being shepherded and nurtured spiritually. |
2/1 Sat | English Ministries Pray for Rev.Tom Wall and family as he waits on the Lord for the next calling and direction into the next ministry |
3/1 Sun | Cantonese Ministries Pray for the summer program of the Cantonese Student Fellowship. More students are around due to the travel ban. Pray for newcomers and for existing students to be close to each other and to the Lord. |
4/1 Mon | Sunday School Pray for the challenges that arise as we transition back to worshipping on-site; to know how to show God’s love, and help children learn more about Him, when some are on-site with their family, whilst others are staying at home, as they are not yet ready to return. |
5/1 Tue | Language School Thanks be to the Lord for his grace and leading in 2020. Semesters 1 & 4 in school physical learning and semesters 2 & 3 online teaching have been very well and got good results. Pray that God will keep leading and blessing each teaching ministry next year. |
6/1 Wed | Church-wide Ministry and Direction With the new church website to be launched at the beginning of 2021, we thank God for a devoted team of bro/sis to make this happen. Let's pray that the website will not just draw people to our church, but it will also relate the latest church information to our members as well as the gospel message to those who come across our website. |
7/1 Thu | English Ministries Pray for youth worker Steaven Cheung as he relocates from Melbourne to support our English ministries, CYA, CYA+, Ignite, young workers and 4pm Worship Service. |

10/1 Sun | Language School Thank God for the faithfulness and unity of the staff, and diligence of the students this past year. Pray for next year's enrollment, provision of teachers and more student enrolment. |
11/1 Mon | Church-wide Ministry and Direction Following the ordination and induction of new elders late last year, we thank God for a growing team of spiritual leaders who oversee the ministries of the church and care for God's flock. Please pray for the session and their families. |
12/1 Tue | English Ministries Pray that we will be able to reach out to the elderly, sick and lonely within our congregation, that might be missing out on online services and fellowship. Pray they may be able to access whatever personal needs are required. |
13/1 Wed | Mandarin Ministries Praise our Lord for the students who still follow Jesus and pursue in knowing God despite facing difficulties. |
14/1 Thu | Sunday School Pray for people to come forward to assist (for one or more Sundays) with the on-site children's program. |
15/1 Fri | National & International Situations In 2002, the Netherlands became the first European country to legally authorize euthanasia. According to the Christian Post, it is now set to legalize euthanasia of young children aged 1-12. A noted scholar on human dignity, Wesley Smith, remarked "Once death is in the driver's seat, it never hits the brake." Pray for the upholding of belief among policy makers that human life is sacred, and must be preserved and nurtured. |
16/1 Sat | Mandarin Ministries Praise the Lord that we could study the book of Job during the pandemic. Thank God that we were able to renew our knowledge on God’s Sovereignty, refresh our hope of resurrection and knowing our limitation. |

18/1 Mon | Mandarin Ministries Praise the Lord for all the small group ministries this year. Even though they we affected by the pandemic, they are still eager to be rooted in God’s Words. |
19/1 Tue | Supported Missionaries Kit Ng with AFES at Western Sydney University We have started planning for 2021. We anticipate that there will be a mixture of online and in-person activities next year. Please pray for all the staff over the summer holidays as we take annual leave, that we will get good rest and be refreshed for next year. Please also pray that God will guide us in our planning. |
20/1 Wed | Cantonese Ministries A new group to learn the "Life of Christ" curriculum is being formed at the moment. Please pray for the Lord's guidance to bring along new students to this course. |
21/1 Thu | Church-wide Ministry and Direction Thank God for listening to our prayers for a long time by bringing Ps Steaven Cheung to our midst to serve the young people and young workers of the church. With Rev Tom Wall's departure, please pray that God will again lead another of his servant to us to advance his kingdom. |
22/1 Fri | Supported Missionaries Jason, Hiwin & Asher Tam in Puxin Taiwan • Praise God that our home church and friends in Australia have gone out of their way and helped us with accommodation, vehicle and furniture for home assignment. • Praise God for giving Jason's grandmother assurance of salvation, and for our supporting church in Hong Kong (EFCC Waterloo Hill Church) to belong to. Pray for comfort to Jason's family in dealing with the loss of their loved one, and for strength and peace in His presence. • Pray that our Taiwanese friends understand our sin is bad because it is against God; yet we are made good and honourable not because of ourselves, but because of our Saviour Jesus Christ. • Pray for Ashar's cultural adjustment when he returns to Australia next year, the so-called "home country" he may not feel at home and may have difficulty fitting in. |
23/1 Sat | National & International Situations For the first time in Sudan’s history, 14 extremists are on trial for attacking a church in Sudan. They have been charged with attempting to burn down the local church on five occasions over a period of nine months. Praise God that Sudanese authorities are making steps towards ensuring peaceful practice of religion in the country. Pray also that God will be transforming the hearts of the 14 extremists. |
24/1 Sun | Cantonese Ministries We thank God that many brothers and sisters participated in the "Not Just Another Christmas" event on 19-20/12 with 40 plus non-Christians being invited. Several of them made a prayer to follow Jesus. Please pray for the subsequent follow-up. |
25/1 Mon | Mandarin Ministries Pray for the upcoming year EMBS - UNSW campus ministry. Pray for the application of a stall on Orientation Week next February and co-operation with the Students Union. |
26/1 Tue | Supported Missionaries Lee On, Evelyn, Erin & Keira Tan in East Asia Over the last few months, following much prayer and consultation with others, we have decided to return to Sydney in late 2021 for our next season. We are still praying and working out many details about our future work and ministry. We would really appreciate your prayers for: what we focus on in this final year, how to finish & transition well, and how we serve during this next Sydney season and beyond. |
27/1 Wed | National Situation Household spending on alcohol has increased by $2 billion nationally when compared to last year according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics data. With the increase in drinking, the Australian National University has found that the main reasons behind the increase are boredom, increased stress, staying longer at home. It seems to be a long road to recovery for the nation in terms of psychological and social wellbeing. Please reflect on the "Lord's Prayer" (Mt 6:9-13) and offer your prayers. |

30/1 Sat | Supported Missionaries Arthur & Iris Leung at Sydney Uni Thank the Lord, using us in the epidemic can expand His kingdom for the Lord, so that more people can know God better and children can be cultivated. *Grateful for my daughter Stephanie, in the second year of UTS University. Thank God for preparing her summer internship opportunity. Pray for the Lord to continue to cultivate her, use her, and become a servant of God. *Pray for Iris' health, she is easily tired, but thank God for still using her to cultivate students. *Pray for our Bible study group, asking the Lord to use us to cultivate disciples. They not only study the Bible, but are also willing to pass on God's message. |
