About us
Our bible study groups meet each Sunday morning during school terms. We meet between 11:00 am and 12 noon and we cater for young adults, couples and parents. We have three bible study groups, where we have discussions that follow the sermon series. This provides our members with an opportunity to explore the passage through sharing and discussion, and where we can help each other relate to what the passage means to our daily lives. From time to time we also have socials.
Our name “Living Word” seeks to capture the purpose and essence of our group, that we live by the word of God. “For the Word of God is alive and active” (Hebrews 4:12). The word is alive because it is the incarnate word, “the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” (John 1:14a). The Word is Jesus the “one and only Son who came from the Father full of grace and truth” (John 1:14b). As we follow Jesus, we receive from him this life and light, we become the children of God (John 1:12). We receive a new life through Christ.
Having been saved by His Word, we seek to be continually transformed by His Word. We no longer live for ourselves, but “for Him who died for (us)” (2 Cor 5:15). This is a continuing transformation, we are renewed daily. Meeting together with other Christians, where we can encourage and support each other, helps us on this journey of being transformed.
