‘This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God’

I truly believe that to get a fuller picture of the wonder of God’s faithfulness, we cannot just look at our own lives but need to look at God’s work within the previous generations as well. It is then that we truly see how God works His salvation plan in every area of life, in the seasons of difficulty and the seasons of plenty.
The covenant that Christians are blessed to be a part of today was passed to us through faithful generations who came before us. From Adam’s generation to Noah’s generation, to Abraham’s generation, to the patriarchs, to Moses’ generations and beyond. God writes with each generation a story of His blessing and grace, so generations after may know Him more and glory in Him.
Likewise in CPC the blessings of God in our community did not just appear in the past 20 years, but through God’s work in the many generations of disciples over 130 years. God used every group to build up a story that reveals his glory and gospel. So we ought to take a moment as a whole church to not only remember God, but also to celebrate His Kingship for us. The blessings of today have come to us through many faithful brothers and sisters.
So can we be encouraged to take a moment from our year and come together as a Church for camp, not just to enjoy a weekend with our community but also to remember as a people of God, how God has worked within us and through us to build His kingdom?
「亞當的後代記在下面。當神造人的日子，是照著自己的樣式造的。」(創5章1節)
我深信要更全面地看到神信實的奇妙，我們不能單看自己的生命，同時也需要回顧神在過去幾個世代的作為。這樣我們才能真正看到無論在困難時期或是富足時期，神是如何在我們生活各方面施行祂的救贖計劃。
今天基督徒所蒙受的恩約是透過歷代以來忠心的信徒們傳承給我們的。從亞當那一代到挪亞那一代，到亞伯拉罕那一代，再到族長，再到摩西那一代和往後世代。神用每一代人的故事寫下了祂的祝福和恩典，以便後代可以更多地認識祂並以祂為榮耀。
同樣，在我們教會，神對我們群體的祝福不僅僅是在過去的二十年中出現，而是通過神在一百三十多年來歷代的門徒中的作為所成就的。神使用每一個群體來建立一個揭示祂榮耀和福音的故事。因此，我們當花點時間整個教會一起來紀念神，同時也讚頌祂一直是我們的王。今天的祝福是透過許多忠心的弟兄姊妹臨到我們身上的。
所以，我們是否得着鼓勵，從一年中騰出時間，作為一個教會聯合在一起參加營會呢？這不僅是為着與我們的社群一起享受一個週末，而是作為神的子民，一同去記念神如何在我們中間工作並透過我們去建立祂的國度。
